Experience

Ironclad

(2022—current)

I joined the brand team at Ironclad in May 2022. Currently exploring how AI can assist us in creating the highest quality creative across our company.

Late Sunday Afternoon

(2014-2021)

I first started working with LSA in 2014 as a creative consultant. Within the year I decided to partner with the founder Matthew Schildkret and we opened our first shop on Lincoln Blvd in Venice California in the fall of 2015. Over the next 6 years I led all marketing and branding efforts — photoshoots, webdesign, social media, video production, graphic design and more.

The Life Aesthetic

(2014-2016)

I started a creative collective in Los Angeles that brought together creatives of all fields to collaborate and cross pollinate. We held events where members would share their ideas and would meet at my house on Fridays for co-working sessions. We even had an amazing intern called Hector who joined us from Belgium.

Xtrapop (pt.2)

(2014-2015)

I was excited about the expanding iPhone app space and wanted to create a visual app for adding extra pop to photos. I teamed up with the amazing Dai Hovey and we created an app that could add illustrations, frames, and filters to your photos in seconds. The app was featured on the homepage of the iTunes store in the Hot New Apps category when it launched.

Polychrome

(2009-2013)

We merged our small design studio into Polychrome and partnered with Tom Dolan to form a creative studio in Downtown Los Angeles. We mostly worked for HP creating mini-sites for their high-profile launches. On the side we worked on several start-up ideas (Ptagr, Nubook)

Stolen

(2004-2009)

I joined forces with my dear friend Jessey White-Cinis to start a webdesign studio in Venice California. I was in charge of form and he was director of function. We worked on a variety of client projects together (Bugaboo, Disney, Epitaph, GNN) as well as a couple of startups (Hoocard, Dropsite) and a bunch of art experiments (StatAttak).

Xtrapop (pt.1)

(2001-2004)

I moved to London and started freelancing. I worked with several of my favorite London design studios of the time (Preloaded, Hi-Res!, Forma, LessRain). I also launched my first t-shirt line called Stolenshirts.

Surfstation.lu

(2000-2008)

I started a “webzine“ to participate in the new yet vibrant online web-design community. The magazine featured a news-feed with inspirational links as well as interviews with prominent designers. The success of this zine is what lead me to move to London and try my hand in a larger market.

Visual Online

(1997-2001)

I dropped out of the University of Virginia after a year and a half to pursue my new-found passion for webdesign. Fortunately I joined a small up-and-coming Internet Service Provider and took over the design part of their growing business. I designed sites for the national brewery (Bofferding), several communes, and all sorts of small businesses. It was a great learning experience as I was meeting with clients, planning and executing websites on a daily basis.
